Alan Hunt, who we recently met at a Tasting the Future event in London has been tracking different “mapping” projects involved in food in the US and US. and has put up a list of about 20 of these with descriptions on his website.
Not a comprehensive inventory of “who is doing what” but does show different ideas of how to identify food activity and issues at a variety of levels (city to nation) with different combination of issues/information).
Alan is tracking this, notably how different social movements and social movement groups (e.g. environment, consumer, rural, farm, etc.) have contributed to the food movements in the US and UK, in his PhD research and for some of my consulting clients in the US. A great resource.
